Community Concert series continues Friday with Tap
MORGAN CITY, La. — The Community Concert Association will hold its second concert of its six-concert series Friday and publicity chair Geri Bourgeois says it’s not too late for people to subscribe to the concert series.
Tap, a group of musicians and dancers, will perform beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Municipal Auditorium in Morgan City. The concert series ends in May.
“The first concert was very well attended and very well received,” Bourgeois said of the Redhead Express concert in September.
“This time, dance studios will have up to 10 students admitted free with up to two adults.”
Tickets for the entire season can be purchased individually for $45 and can be purchased at the door of Friday night’s concert.
“That is because of a generous grant,” Bourgeois said of the ticket price. “Otherwise, the price would be much higher.”
“The performers come from all over the United States and the world,” she said. “I love performing arts, and I am so thankful that we are able to have the organization that we do to bring live entertainment to Morgan City. We’re the only community concert association in Louisiana.”
Bourgeois said that the concert series attracts attendees from outside of St. Mary Parish.
The Tap concert involves “dancers and singers and costume changes. There is something to appeal to everyone.”
