Patterson power outage

A vehicle hit a utility pole around 5 p.m. today on Veterans Boulevard south of the railroad tracks in Patterson causing a power outage. As of about 7 p.m., 212 Cleco customers were without power in St. Mary Parish, according to Cleco's website. Cleco expected to have power restored by 8 p.m. today, according to company officials. Sensor trips city’s power off

A safety switch detected an electrical problem and opened up, which shut off the city’s electrical supply from Cleco this morning, Bill Cefalu, city utilities director, said.
