Charles “Bill” Verdun Jr.

Charles “Bill” Verdun Jr., 84, a resident and native of Verdunville, died Thursday at his residence.

Visitation will be Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Verdunville, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He served as sergeant in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-57 and was honorably discharged. He was a substitute school bus driver.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Bourgeois Verdun of Verdunville; a son, Rodney Verdun of Franklin; a brother, Hayward Verdun Sr. of Verdunville; a sister, Irma V. Thomas of Yeadon, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, his daughter, a granddaughter, two brothers and five sisters.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City-Franklin-Jeanerette-Houma is in charge of arrangements.
