Centerville Lady Bulldogs whip Lafayette Christian

LAFAYETTE _ Centerville’s Lady Bulldogs improved to a flawless 2-0 in District 8-B with Tuesday’s 9-3 league win over Lafayette Christian.

Centerville upped its current record 7-5 overall and 2-0 in league action.

Taylor Saucier led the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with a 3 for 4 effort, including a triple, double and single with three RBI and two runs.

Ashton Landry started on the mound for the Lady Bulldogs, recording the victory after working five frames, striking out two, walking two while giving up six hits and three runs.

Lacy LaGrange notched another save in relief of Landry, silencing Lafayette Christian’s bats while not allowing a hit nor a run with four strikeouts and one walk over two complete frames.

Other top hitters for the Centerville Lady Bulldogs were: Ashton Landry, 1 for 4, RBI, run; Lacy LaGrange, 1 for 3, 2 runs; Taylor Saucier, 3 for 4, single, double, triple, 3 RBIs, 2 runs; Kennan Stelly, run; Victoria Theriot, 2 for 4, singles, run; Reagan Romero, 1 for 4, single; Paige Pellerin, run; Rylie Candella, 1 for 4; Rachel LeBlanc, 1 for 4, double, 2 RBI, run and Robyn Romero, 1 for 4, single.

Centerville will travel to play the West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack today in Baldwin.
