Centerville Bulldogs pound Madison Prep
BATON ROUGE _ Cameron Pogue was the winning pitcher while Chance Landry and Peyton Landry wielded a hot bat as the Centerville Bulldogs pinned a 21-10 District 8-B setback on Madison Prep here Saturday.
Pogue tossed 3 2/3 frames on the hill, allowing four earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and seven walks. Reliever Dylan Burgess appeared for the final 1 1/3 innings, not allowing a run nor a hit with two strikeouts and one walk.
Chance Landry led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles while driving in five.
Peyton Landry turned in a 2 for 3 effort, belting a triple with four RBI.
Other top hitters for Centerville were: Tyler Theriot, 2 for 4, 2 RBI; Christian Arias, 2 for 3, RBI; Devin Pontiff, 1 for 4, 2 RBI; Cameron Pogue, 1 for 4; Tristian Duncan, 1 for 3, RBI and Dylan Burgess, 2 RBI.
Centerville, which evened its league record at 2-2, will play host to Holden today at 4 p.m. in league play.
