Car seat safety check at Sacred Heart Saturday
The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council for South Louisiana in partnership with the Catholic Charities and Foster Grandparent Program and Sacred Heart Church Parish is hosting a free Child Passenger Safety Seat Check event in Morgan City.
The event will be held Saturday in the parking lot of Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at the corner of Third and Union streets. Child seat safety checks will be held from 9-11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m.
The event is held in various locations each year around the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
It is an opportunity for the Foster Grandparent Program members to perform a day of public service.
The public is invited to have car seats checked while receiving valuable information about correct usage and fittings, and how to safely move your child up as they grow.
Trained technicians will inform participants if they are using the best seat possible for their child as well as using it in the safest way.
If the car seat is found to be unsafe or out-of-date, one will be provided at no charge.
