Industrial valve company to build in Port Allen
PORT ALLEN (AP) — Cortec CMS, an industrial valve company, says it will build a $6 million manufacturing and distribution facility near Port Allen that will create 30 new jobs.
The Houma-based company, which makes high-pressure valves used in deepwater drilling, will move its Lafayette office to Port Allen. The move will allow Cortec to retain 112 Louisiana jobs.
The new facility, which will be on a six-acre site along La. 1 north of Port Allen, will be completed by the end of 2014. The new jobs will have an average annual salary of $55,000, plus benefits.
