Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Bobby Ray Chauvin, 76, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at his home.
Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Deacon Gerald Bourg will officiate the services.
Bobby was an avid hunter and gardener who enjoyed going out dancing.
He is survived by one son, Ron Chauvin and his wife, Michele, of Franklin, and their daughter, Kourtney; two daughters, Mary Beth C. Meche and her husband, Mike, of Ville Platte, and their three children, Trey, Michelle and her husband, Jason, and Alyssa and her husband, Luke, and their child, Noah; and Julie C. VanAllen and her husband, Marvin, of Broussard, and their two sons, Derek and Brandon; two sisters, Marie Dupre of Franklin and Leatrice Hanson of Franklin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pastor Joseph Chauvin and Celina Rodriguez Chauvin; six brothers, Preston, Henry, Elwood, Jess, Manly and Herman Chauvin; and two sisters, Malvina Chauvin Broussard and Reba Chauvin Hebert.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m.
