Black history celebration

Students across the parish were able to experience “A Celebration of Black History and Culture” at the traveling Black Inventions Museum exhibited at Broussard Harris Recreation Center last Friday and Saturday in Franklin. The exhibit, “Changing the Future by Cultivating the Mind,” was produced by Professional Athletes Supporting Students and sponsored by numerous local individuals and businesses. Museum Chief Executive Officer Dr. Umar Bey shared inspirational stories on the long list of inventions by African Americans and urged the students to become innovators themselves.
