BGC plants crape myrtles

BERWICK GARDEN Club members gathered Tuesday afternoon on Berwick’s Fairview Drive to show off their most recent project, the planting of more than 40 Natchez crape myrtles along the town’s walking trail. The club’s goal was to provide shade for those using the trail. According to the club, Natchez crape myrtles are known to “canopy” outward. The project cost $4,500. Berwick maintenance crews placed the trees. From left are BGC President Casie Callais and members Charlie Ann Eues, Carol Sealine and Tina Bourgeois. Daily Review Photo/Courtney Darce
