Berwick, Morgan City pick up volleyball wins Tuesday

BALDWIN — The Berwick Lady Panthers defeated West St. Mary 3-1 (25-15, 25-22, 14-25, 25-9) in prep volleyball action Tuesday.

Ashton Morales led the Lady Panthers with four aces, seven kills, one block, 13 assists and seven digs, while Brie Hill added two aces, 11 kills, three blocks, one assist and 13 digs.

Other top contributors included Diana Grace Guarisco, four aces, two kills, two assists and 13 digs; Maddie Gray, one ace, six kills and two digs; Abigail Askew, one ace, five kills and a block; Hannah Carpenter, four aces and seven digs; and Jeanne Marie Hidalgo, three aces and seven digs.

In junior varsity action, Berwick was victorious 25-10, 25-7.

The Lady Panthers (6-3) will return to action Thursday when they begin play in Morgan City High School’s Lady Tiger Classic with a 3:45 p.m. contest against Lutcher in the school’s Multi-Purpose building.

Morgan City beats Delcambre

Morgan City picked up its second straight victory with a 3-0 win Tuesday in Delcambre.

The Lady Tigers won 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.

No individual statistics were available from Tuesday’s contest.

Morgan City (2-6) will return to action when it participates in its Lady Tiger Classic.
