Benefit set for baby needing bone marrow
A benefit will be held Nov. 5 for an infant with local connections.
A poker run and auction will be held for Kohen Treser, a four-month-old infant who is the son of Chad and Kasi Bennett Treser of New Orleans and the grandson of Craig and Debbie Bennett of Morgan City.
The benefit will be held to offset medical expenses for a bone marrow transplant Treser will receive in December to cure him of a blood disease called Wiskott-Aldrich.
The poker run will feature two routes, one for motorcycles and cars, and a second for boats.
Both routes of the run will begin and end at Lake End Park in Morgan City.
Pre-registration forms are available at Anytime Fitness’ Morgan City and Bayou Vista locations and also by calling Annette Fraley at 985-714-0818 or Jamie Stroud at 518-8954.
The pre-registration deadline is Oct. 29.
A silent auction and door prize drawings also will be held at Lake End Park Pavilion on Nov. 5 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The items available include LSU and Saints tickets, a hunting rifle, oil paintings and jewelry.
The Lake End Park event also will feature a children’s area and food as well as a live band.
