Barbara was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Plaquemine and was a long-time resident of Morgan City, Lafayette and Gonzales. She was known for her outgoing personality, zest for life and Southern hospitality.
She had the opportunity to experience much of the world as an avid traveler and enjoyed any card games, LSU sports, Broadway shows, good food and wine. Her Catholic faith called forth service to others as a volunteer with Saint Vincent de Paul, and Eucharistic Minister in her church parish. Later in life she took interest and joy in hobbies of artistic nature; making jewelry and painting. Most of all, BeBe enjoyed being with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through the lives that she has touched.

David and Thomas D. “Beau” Bourgeois Jr. Lectors are granddaughters, Tara Thimmesch Bienvenu and Danielle Bourgeois Clapinski.
