Arts, dance program finale is Saturday at Broussard-Harris
The Bayou Beaux Arts and Dance Program will host its dance performance and art show on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Broussard-Harris Recreation Center in Franklin, Louisiana.
The cost is $5 per person at the door.
LaDaisha Bowles, founder, coordinator and instructor of ELITE Dance Co. has been working with the participants in the dance portion of the summer arts program. Young ladies seven to 18 years old practiced twice per week for one hour and 15 minutes per practice.
When asked about her dancers, Bowles said, “I feel that my girls have accomplished so much. They have managed to learn and perfect a total of 11 routines in only eight weeks!”
What many people don’t realize is that there is a lot of artistic talent in small cities such as Franklin that is not recognized, Bowles said. “For many years talent in small areas has been overlooked, ignored, and highly underestimated. By coming out to witness the natural and discovered talent in the ELITE Dance Co. you will be proving others wrong. These dancers have beautiful personalities. They have much to offer on the inside, as well as on the outside, and you will see that evidenced through their dance.”
Bowles said she is looking forward to seeing the residents of Franklin and the surrounding area at the final dance performance, and wishes to invite everyone to that performance Saturday.
