Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Earline A. Sam, 32, of Poncio Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:08 a.m. Monday for simple battery.
Officers responded to a complaint regarding a small child who was struck by an adult female at a school bus stop in the area of Headland Street, Crouch said. Officers located the witnesses to the incident as well as the juveniles involved. Officers learned that Sam was involved in an altercation involving two juveniles, striking a 12-year-old juvenile. Sam was jailed.
—Whitney Kline, 49, of Carol Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:36 a.m. Monday for appearing intoxicated in public. Officers responded to a complaint at a Roderick Street address. Kline was jailed.
—Patrick Augman, 39, of Como Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:41 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft.
Augman was located at the Patterson Police Department and arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court in April 2005 for theft. He was jailed.
—Bertha Lyons, 49, of Linda Drive in Gray, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. today on a warrant for failure to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia, a warrant for contempt of court, and a warrant for failure to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia.
A patrolling officer observed a suspicious female in the area of Ditch Avenue and La. 182 and detained her. Lyons was wanted on two warrants for failing to appear for drug paraphernalia and contempt of court from 2011. She was jailed.
—Darryl Winley, 23, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:10 a.m. today on a warrant for three counts of contempt of court and a warrant for a probation violation.
An officer observed a suspicious person in the area of Fig Street. Winley was wanted on several outstanding warrants dating back to 2010. He was jailed.
—Gary S. Driskill, 61, of Second Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. Monday for hit and run.
Police received a complaint of a hit and run on Myrtle Street. Driskill was identified as the driver of the vehicle who had struck another vehicle in a parking lot and left the scene, traveling to Berwick. Driskill was released on cash bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 40 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Michael Miller, 36, of the 200 block of Southwest Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 10:15 a.m. Monday for remaining where forbidden. A deputy responded to a request to standby at a residence in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Miller, who stated that he wanted to retrieve items from the residence. While speaking with the subject, the deputy learned that Miller had been ordered to stay away from a female at the residence. Miller was advised to leave the residence pending further investigation. Miller was subsequently located at his place of employment and jailed. He was released on $500 bail.
—Areana Candanedo, 22, of the 2600 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 10:49 a.m. Monday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Candanedo was released on a summons to appear in court on Jan. 31.
—Robyn Blanc, 28, of the 1300 block of Middle Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. Monday for possession of Schedule I narcotic. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on Arlington Road in Bayou Vista made contact with a passenger identified as Blanc. The deputy observed suspected illegal narcotics on the floor of the vehicle where Blanc had previously been seated. Blanc was released on a summons to appear in court on Jan. 31.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
