Steven "Peanut" Kemp, 65, a resident of Morgan City and native of Verdunville, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Teche Regional Medical.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include a special friend and caregiver, Betty Young of Verdunville; one son, David Jay Kemp of Gulfport, Mississippi; and two sisters, Lillian Kemp of Patterson and Mrs. William (Gloria) Roberson of Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held today, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Jones Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitations will also be observed Tuesday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Walmsley United Methodist Church.

Funeral rites will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at Walmsley United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Little Zion Cemetery in Verdunville.
