ALICE G. BUTLER
Mrs. Alice Grogan Butler, 70, a resident and native of Patterson, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at 11:32 a.m., at Louisiana Specialty Hospital in Marrero following a short illness.
She is survived by one son, John B. Grogan of Amelia; six daughters, Chriss Knight of Youngsville, Shirley Francis of Bayou Vista, Carol J. Lewis, Etta Jennings, Claudia Taylor and Mary E. Butler, all of Patterson; four brothers, Andrew, Mario and Steve Grogan of Patterson and Peter Grogan of Morgan City; four sisters, Mary Ann Grogan, Mercy Hemsley and Priscilla Smith of Patterson and Julia Richardson of Gray; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, two great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers.
Visitations will be observed Friday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson.
Burial rites will be read Friday, at 2 p.m., at that church, with Pastor Patrick T. Jones Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
