All but one incumbent 16th Judicial District judges are unopposed in the Oct. 4 election.
One newcomer was also without competition and will be seated to the bench.
James R. McClelland received no opponents in his bid for the seat being vacated by Judge William D. Hunter.
Judge Lori Landry of New Iberia will face off with challenger Lucretia P. Burton in the fall.
Unopposed were judges Charles L Porter, Div. G., of New Iberia; Gerard B. Wattigny Div. A, of New Iberia; Paul deMahy, Div. B, of St. Martinville; John E. Conery, Div. C, of Franklin; Keith Comeaux, Div. E., of New Iberia and Ed Leonard, Div. 4, of Morgan City.
District Attorney J. Phil Haney also is unopposed.
In Franklin, City Court Judge Terry Breaux is unopposed, along with Franklin City Marshal David McCoy.
Morgan City is also facing a full slate of elections as the mayor and council head for the ballots in October.
Mayor Tim Matte has competition from Frank "Boo" Grizzaffi and council candidates include Herman L. Hartman and Tim Hymel (Dist. 1), Larry P. Bergeron (Dist. 2), Ron Bias (Dist. 3), Luke P. Manfre (Dist. 4) and Louis J. Tamporello Jr. (Dist. 5).
City Court Judge in Morgan City Kim P. Stansbury and City Marshal Kenneth J. Duval have also qualified.
