5-K Run/Walk set for Oct. 27

Teche Action Clinic is once again hosting the Adeline Guienze Breast Cancer Memorial Fund 5-K Run/Walk through the historic and downtown districts of Franklin on Oct. 27.

The event is being held as part of the City of Franklin’s Harvest Moon Fest.

The clinic established the memorial fund in memory of Adeline Guienze to support its women’s health program.

Funds generated from the event will be designated to pay for mammogram screenings for women who fall within specific income guidelines and the program’s breast cancer awareness outreach and education initiatives.

Runners and walkers will depart the Courthouse Square at 8 a.m.

Awards will include $150 to the top first place male winner and the top first place female winner. First, second and third place trophies will be awarded for the top male and female runners and the top male and female walkers (by official race clock). Medals will be awarded for other categories.

All pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Late registration participants are not guaranteed a T-shirt. All entry fees are non-refundable.
