$22K worth of marijuana intercepted in the mail, Patterson man arrested
PATTERSON, La. -- A Patterson man was arrested Tuesday by St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics division detectives after detectives and a postal inspector intercepted a package in the mail that contained marijuana with an estimated street value of $22,000, according to St. Mary Parish Mark Hebert.
Justin Bourgeois, 39, of Main Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug without a prescription.
Sheriff’s detectives, in conjunction with a United States Postal Service investigator, executed a search warrant at the Main Street residence where the detectives found the package of marijuana, the report stated. Digital scales and prescription ibuprofen pills also were located at the residence, the report stated.
Bourgeois was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
